Light and easy to use
The Tortoiseshell crackle glaze tends to be heavy due to its thick glaze, but by making the clay thin, it is light enough for everyone to hold. The streamlined shape, which was carefully created on a potter's wheel, comfortably fits in hand. Thanks to the use of the Yakishime high-temperature firing techniques, the tumbler has a gentle matte feeling to the touch. Making it both beautiful and comfortable to use at the same time.
Focus on details
The engraved lines that give a sharp impression are hand-carved one by one. The special shine of the golden engraving lines was achieved by using the traditional inlay technique called Mishimade. We were particular about the elegant elevation of the bottom, the bottom is filled with amber glaze, and the kiln stamp shining in gold. The kiln mark is designed by superimposing "Tohsen" on a polygonal image of a tortoise shell.
It was made with great care without compromising on the details, so we would like people who like pottery to pick it up straight away.
The Tortoiseshell crackle glaze
Because of its polygonal cracks and resemblance to turtle shells, it is called Tortoiseshell crackle glaze, sometimes also known as Ice crackle glaze or Rose crackle glaze. Each and every crackle of the glaze is unique due to the uniqueness of the "crazing" phenomenon itself.
Gold/Platinum touch
After the final firing, gold and platinum colors are applied, furthermore, the Mishimade inlay technique beauty is further highlighted by firing at approximately 730°C. Plentiful experience combined with the appropriate concentration and the insertion of the Tortoiseshell crackle glaze has led to a contemporary touch that is easy to match with modern lifestyles.

Care instructions
・We strongly advise against using the pottery as it is, due to the fine crackles and their fat and oils absorbent characteristics. Before the first usage of the pottery, we strongly recommend soaking the pottery in warm water and then wiping them lightly.
・To prevent further seepage, at the beginning of use, it is effective to put rice washing water in a pot and boil it on low heat for 20 to 30 minutes.
・If it gets dirty, soak it in the kitchen bleach as soon as possible and wash it with a soft sponge.
・After each usage, apply a neutral detergent and wash with a soft sponge.
・Please refrain from using a dish dryer or a scrubbing brush as this may cause damage, unwanted peeling and scratches.
・After washing, run it through hot water to speed up drying and prevent mold.
・Please avoid exposing the plate to sudden temperature changes, as it may suffer irreversible damage. Also, the overglaze, as well as the golden and platinum colors, may be damaged, if you're using them in the microwave.
